A student who demonstrates a passion for Music.
Elizabeth enjoyed singing from the time she was a toddler. She had an amazing memory and could hear a song one time and know all the words and melody immediately. She belted out Kenney Chesney songs at 3 years of age while traveling to and from daycare. As she grew, she would sing for hours while traveling in the car, around the house, indoors and outdoors. Elizabeth and her dad loved to whistle Christmas songs in harmony.
This scholarship is for a student who demonstrates a passion for music regardless of chosen college major. This is a one year award. There is an additional $1000 bonus award available to any student who submits an application and includes a video of themselves whistling, “Jingle Bells”. The winner of this bonus award does not have to be the winner of this scholarship.

Dance
A student who demonstrates a passion for Dance.
Elizabeth started with Silverton Ballet when she turned 3 and continued for twelve years. She loved all sorts of dance including ballet, pointe, jazz, hip hop, modern and tap. She was a member of the Silverton Dance Team and wore out countless socks by doing pirouettes throughout the house.
This scholarship is for a student who understands what it means to dance in the rain and to have a passion for life and dance. This is a one year award. There is an additional $1000 bonus award available to any student who submits an application and includes a video of themselves dancing in the rain. The winner of this bonus award does not have to be the winner of this scholarship.

Science
A Female student who plans on majoring in Science.
Elizabeth had a passion for Biology; she took as many science classes as she could in high school. She also aided in biology class for three years. Elizabeth knew at an early age science was going to be her focus in life. She loved genetics and the development of the human body. Her hope was to find a way to help children with medical needs. Biology was her intended major at WOU.
This scholarship is for a female majoring in any area of science. This is a 1-year award.

The Arts
A student who demonstrates a passion for the Arts.
Elizabeth had an eye for art and drawing. She enjoyed crafts, photography and design. As she got older her passion became drawing with a simple pencil and pen. She was a selftaught and gifted illustrator. She started with a pencil, sketching different princesses, faces and dance shoes. Later, she set her pencil down and started drawing amazing pictures with a simple fine line black sharpie. She would find a design and then start drawing freehand; she added all kinds of squiggles, dots, dashes and shading and they turned into these amazing and wonderful works of art. She would often personalize each picture with a note on the back before she gave them away.
This award is for a student with passion for any area of the creative arts. This is a one year award.

Foreign Language
A student who demonstrates a passion for Foreign Language.
Elizabeth had a passion for learning foreign language and travel. She took four years of Spanish in high school and was enrolled in Spanish at WOU. She was able to use her language skills working on her family farm and in her travels. The summer of her junior year Elizabeth traveled to Spain and was planning to return after her freshman year of college. She also traveled to Italy, Mexico, and most recently spent a month in Southeast Asia visiting Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand.
This scholarship will be awarded to a student who intends to put their language skills into action. This is a one year award.

Sports
A student who played a Sport during their time in school and demonstrated passion and perseverance.
Elizabeth was not a (naturally) gifted athlete; she worked hard to improve. She loved the challenge of learning and becoming better. She participated in various sports during her school years. Her senior year she wanted to do a spring sport. She picked tennis, made the team, worked hard, excelled, and lettered.
This scholarship will be awarded to a student who demonstrates a desire to participate, play hard, and give great effort. This is a one year award.

Future Farmers of America
A student who participated in FFA during their time in school.
The FFA has a creed and in the first part of it reads “with a faith born not of words but of deeds“, this is Elizabeth at her core. In 8th grade, Elizabeth purchased a sheep named Lucky to show at the County Fair. She enjoyed learning a new skill and the responsibilities that came with taking care of and training an animal. She participated in numerous FFA competitions, made a lot of friends, and created great memories through FFA.
This scholarship will be awarded to a student who shows the qualities and characteristics that exemplify the FFA Creed. This is a one year award.

A Valedictorian out of the graduating class
Elizabeth had a passion to learn. She loved school and was always excited to learn. Elizabeth was self-driven and her harshest critic. She set a goal her freshman year to have straight A’s and graduate Valedictorian. Four-years later she proudly accomplished her goals. Elizabeth also loved to help others do the best they could, it was not uncommon to find Elizabeth tutoring and helping other students reach their potential.
This award will be given to a high school Valedictorian that demonstrates a strong track record of helping others. This award is a one year award.

A student that has Special Needs
Elizabeth loved helping others. Her interaction with kids that had special needs began early in life. She loved teaching, working with, playing with, and most of all, making kids laugh. She had dreams of finding medical solutions to help benefit children with special needs. She was a great friend to all.
